FAQs

For Startups

How much can I raise?

If we believe we can help you via mentoring, we invest an initial early stage amount of between US$10,000 and US$50,000.

After agreeing on mutually defined KPIs, should your startup achieve those KPIs we could lead a seed investment round in which we would invest between US$250,000 and US$2,000,000.

What is the process of fundraising?

Our process for determining funding for startups is as follows:

  1. Identification: Either we hear from you directly, via this website or other method of contact, or we seek you out.

  2. Initial Review: We look at the data we’ve gathered. If it meets our requirements, we then contact you for an initial interview via Zoom.

  3. Initial Interview: We have a half-hour discussion via Zoom where you present your company, we ask questions, and we discuss your product, market and team. If we are still interested, we ask you to send us further information about your financials, milestones and team.

  4. Internal Review: If after review of the additional information you send us we believe there is a good fit between our model and your startup, we will begin a formal review process. We focus on three main areas of interest: the size of the market, the ability of the team to execute in that market, and product development.

  5. Due Diligence: If we decide to move forward, we enter into a more formal review process. Depending on the stage of your company, we present you with a list of information we need to review, focusing on legal, financial, shareholder, regulatory and contractual information. This review is to verify the information given in the initial interview and to ensure no red flags are presented.

  6. Final Decision: If significant issues are found during this phase of due diligence, we will not proceed with the process. However, if no issues are presented, ExtraVallis may move forward to fund the startup.

  7. Terms and Agreement: If there is a good fit with our model, we present you with a term sheet. If the terms are agreed we enter into a shareholder agreement. Once the terms are agreed and the shareholder agreement is signed, we begin our mentoring work and transfer agreed funds.
